200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training and
Yoga for Life Modules
at Peace Love and Yoga in Carlsbad, California
I opened Peace Love and Yoga, PLAY, in 2010. I was only 23 when I opened it, so I feel like I grew up here as the studio grew and expanded. My partner, Monique came in first as a teacher, then assistant manager, studio manager, then in 2017 we became business partners. I’m grateful to have an amazing partner on site running our day-to-day operations, which allows me to live out of state and while continuing to create new programing and trainings for PLAY as well as other locations. This studio is where the birth place of all the trainings I’ve created, and will always be one of my yoga homes. Come check out class here, and I’d love to see you in one of our programs!

200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Program
Our well-rounded program was developed with you in mind to not only gain confidence in teaching, but also in your own personal practice. We focus on the journey within, to help you connect with the most authentic version of you. Our detailed alignment principals will teach you the structure of poses, and how to adjust them for different students, seasons of life and injuries. We teach you to see and teach to people, not just bodies. The entire program is interlaced with Anatomy, Sanskrit terms, Subtle Energy, and Yoga Philosophy alongside your Asana (poses). We will give you the tools to develop your own sequences for every stage of your teaching and to expand your own personal practice. This 200 Hour Training was created for your teaching, your practice and for your life beyond the mat.

Balance isn't just something you find on one foot — it's something you build everywhere. We break down balance poses in depth, then use meditation and yoga philosophy to explore what balance actually looks like in a full, busy life.

Backbends ask you to do something that doesn't always come naturally — open up. We break down the mechanics, layer in the chakra system and mantra, and bring it all to life through the ancient stories woven through yoga's roots.

We carry a lot in our hips. This module goes deep into hip opening poses, explores anatomical spectrums so you understand how your unique body is built, and brings in the gunas — yoga's framework for understanding the qualities of nature and self.
Hip opening poses · Anatomical spectrums · The gunas · Yoga philosophy

Turn your world upside down and find out who's there. We break down inversions in depth — the alignment, the strength, the fear — and pair them with the pancamaya kosha system: yoga's ancient five-layered map of the self.
Inversion poses · Pancamaya kosha system · Journey to self · Yoga philosophy

In yoga we say twists wring you out — and they do, in more ways than one. We break down spinal rotation from the inside out, then pair it with Ayurveda, yoga's ancient sister science of health, so you understand your constitution and how to live in rhythm with it.
Twisting poses · Ayurveda · Doshas · Yoga philosophy

Arm balances look like feats of strength. They're actually feats of focus. We break down the poses, unlock the power of bandhas — your internal energy locks — and pair it all with a deep exploration of meditation and focus that goes far beyond the mat.
Arm balance poses · Bandhas · Meditation & focus · Yoga philosophy

You've broken down the poses, explored the philosophy, breathed through it, gone inward and upside down. Now comes the most important question: how do you carry all of it with you? This closing module is a space to integrate everything you've gathered and discover what it truly means to live this practice.
Integration · Reflection practice · Living the teachings
